Brad Pitt is set to reprise his role as Cliff Booth from Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” in an upcoming spin-off directed by David Fincher. Titled “The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth,” the film will be available for a limited two-week global IMAX release starting November 25, followed by its debut on Netflix on December 23. The narrative follows Booth, a Hollywood stuntman with a mysterious past, as he navigates the evolving landscape of the film industry.
The screenplay for this new venture is penned by Quentin Tarantino himself, although he has opted not to direct the film. Tarantino previously expressed his reluctance to have his final directorial project be a sequel, despite his enthusiasm for exploring more of the Cliff Booth storyline. Set in 1977, the movie takes place eight years after the events of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” offering a deeper look into Booth’s life as he adjusts to a transformed Hollywood scene.
The film boasts a star-studded cast alongside Brad Pitt. Notable actors such as Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian will be joining the project. The original film featured Pitt alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, capturing the essence of late 1960s Los Angeles.
Taking the director’s helm is David Fincher, known for his work on films like “Fight Club,” “Zodiac,” “The Social Network,” and “Gone Girl.” Fincher also has experience directing successful Netflix series including “House of Cards” and “Mindhunter.” His involvement in the project is expected to bring a fresh creative direction to the story of Cliff Booth.
This collaboration marks a significant reunion between Brad Pitt and his memorable character created by Tarantino, while Fincher’s direction is anticipated to provide a unique twist to the narrative.
