Volodymyr Zelenskyy Warns Europe to Prepare for Rising Drone Threats

-

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has cautioned that Europe must urgently prepare for potential drone attacks carried out not just by states, but also by terrorist groups, criminal networks, and lone individuals.

Speaking during his visit to the United Kingdom, Zelenskyy highlighted how rapidly advancing drone technology is making large-scale attacks cheaper and more accessible. He warned that such capabilities are no longer limited to powerful nations, increasing the risk of strikes on civilian and critical infrastructure.

Zelenskyy also pointed to growing military cooperation between Russia and Iran, noting the use of Iranian-designed drones in ongoing attacks on Ukraine. He described the partnership as a dangerous alignment that could accelerate the spread of advanced weapons technology.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized the need for continued Western support for Ukraine, warning that global conflicts should not distract from countering Russian aggression.

Zelenskyy added that drone warfare is evolving quickly, with newer systems becoming faster, more precise, and increasingly integrated with artificial intelligence. He stressed that Europe must strengthen its defenses, as long-range drone attacks can now be launched from multiple locations, including sea-based platforms.
