‘Israel Stands Strong With You’: Benjamin Netanyahu Reaffirms Solidarity After Delhi Terror Blast

-

Following the tragic explosion in Delhi that killed eight people, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered a heartfelt message of support to India. He directly addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reaffirming the strong bond between the two countries. “Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength in this time,” Netanyahu declared.

The statement was sent in response to the blast on Monday evening near the Subhash Marg traffic signal, close to the historic Red Fort. The explosion, involving a Hyundai i20, caused significant damage and multiple casualties. Netanyahu, joined by his wife Sara, expressed deep personal condolences to the families affected by the tragedy.

Netanyahu invoked the deep historical ties between India and Israel, calling them “ancient civilisations united by shared values.” He emphasized their resilience, stating, “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls.” This message of an “unyielding spirit” was central to his communication.

The strong message of support was echoed by other Israeli officials. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also posted his condolences, stating, “Israel stands with India in its fight against terror” and wishing a “speedy recovery to the wounded.” This underscores the growing global solidarity with India.

The investigation into the blast has been escalated, with the Ministry of Home Affairs handing the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA has registered a case and is probing a potential terror angle, with sources pointing to a possible Jaish-e-Mohammad module being responsible for the attack.
