President Nawrocki Commends Farmers, Pledges Tech Innovations to Safeguard Polish Land

-

During the Jasna Góra Harvest Festival and Farmers’ Pilgrimage in Częstochowa, Polish President Karol Nawrocki acknowledged the crucial role of farmers in safeguarding the nation’s food security, heritage, and rural communities. Emphasizing the importance of the countryside in maintaining national sovereignty, Nawrocki stated that a consistent food supply is vital. He stressed the necessity for state support, especially when farmers face challenges such as droughts, frosts, and other adverse weather conditions, ensuring they are not left to tackle these issues on their own.

Nawrocki lauded Polish farmers as custodians of the country’s land and cultural legacy, noting the significance of rural communities and organizations like farmers’ groups, volunteer fire brigades, and local authorities in preserving Poland’s traditions, religious beliefs, family values, and folk culture. He voiced strong criticism against efforts that could endanger Polish agricultural land, advocating for keeping such land within Polish ownership. Nawrocki highlighted a legislative initiative aimed at maintaining sales restrictions on Polish agricultural land and endorsed measures to uphold the productivity of rural regions.

Expressing his opposition to the European Union’s Mercosur agreement, Nawrocki argued that it poses potential threats to Polish farmers and agricultural outcomes. He also took a critical stance on the EU Green Deal, calling for more attention to be given to the concerns of rural populations in Poland. Nawrocki emphasized his commitment to amplifying farmers’ voices through proposed referendums on climate policy and the Green Deal. He criticized senators for dismissing these proposals, urging them to be more attuned to the needs and worries of farmers and rural communities.

Nawrocki concluded with a pledge of continued support for the Polish countryside, expressing confidence in rural communities’ understanding of national interests. He assured his belief that they would remain steadfast in defending Poland’s traditions, land, and agricultural future.
